The Medical University of Bialystok has created the historical path ‘A walk into the past’, through which you can visit the most valuable rooms of the Branicki Palace in Białystok. The project enables the visitors to learn about the history of medicine and pharmacy.
The project included conservation work, including in the Magna auditorium, the chapel and the cellars of the Palace. Historic stucco, paneling, door and floor woodwork have been restored. Paintings, sculptures and paintings have been renovated. The heating system was also replaced, and the electrical installation was additionally installed in the basement. Thanks to that, it was possible to create there an interesting multimedia exhibition.
The project also included increasing the accessibility of the facility for people with disabilities, using, among others, guides with audio description, Braille guides, and devices to listen to information about the history of the Palace. The effect of the project ‘A Walk into the past’ is now available to visitors.
