The Medical University of Bialystok, thanks to grants from the Regional Operational Program of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, will carry out the project "Center for Innovative Research in the Prevention of Civilization Diseases and Personalized Medicine (CBI PLUS)". The project is one of the most important investments, pivotal for the development of the region. It will also help to improve the innovation of the region, increase the quality of scientific research and strengthen the cooperation between scientific centers and entrepreneurs. Project is a continuation of the earlier project, implemented by the MUB with the grant from EU in the years 2007-2013.
The project will, among others, include:
- purchase of equipment to 5 research units, which specialize in research concerning civilization diseases such as diabetes and obesity, cancer, or chronic kidney and liver diseases;
- creation of 8 new laboratories within the Anti-Aging Facility;
- development of the Center of Prevention and Personalized Medicine, including the creation of a new laboratories for the Center of Population Research and Telemedicine and the Regenerative Medicine Center, which may help in resolving the problem of transplant organ shortage and the rejection of transplanted organs;
- building a new facility of Bialystok Molecular Imaging Center , which will improve the detection and effectiveness of the treatment of civilization diseases.
