In September 2019 the regional hospital in Białystok finished the project that included building the new systemic and neurological rehabilitation centre. The investment included building patients’ rooms, as well as physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and occupational therapy rooms. The facility is equipped with the latest equipment.
The centre is located in the building, where ophthalmology and otolaryngology departments had previously resided. The total cost of the investment equaled over PLN 14 million, of which almost PLN 6.7 million was co-financing under the Regional Operational Programme. While the cost of over PLN 7.2 million was disbursed from the budget of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. In addition, specialist rehabilitation equipment was purchased, which is necessary to conduct effective rehabilitation. The beneficiary bought, among others instruments for the rehabilitation of upper and lower limbs and sets for speech exercises.
The budget for the modernization of the building was subsidized from the budget of the Podlaskie Voivodship. This included facade works, renovation and modernization of the roof, replacement of external window and door joinery. Next, the central heating was installed. The facility is fully adapted to the elderly and people with disabilities. The hospital provided direct access to all floors from the ground level. The hospital lift cabins were adapted to be operated by people with disabilities.
