Gmina Suwałki has improved the infrastructure in two public spaces: in Mała Huta and Okuniowiec. Prior to the project, the spaces were "wild beaches." Then, as part of the project, the beneficiary cleaned up the area and built the tourist and recreational infrastructure. In the village of Mała Huta there was a jetty on Lake Koleśne. It is a floating jetty in the shape similar to the letter L.
Next to the beach, w wooden gazebo with benches and a place for grill was also built. The residents and tourists can now enjoy the new beach volleyball court and mini playground. Also new ground lighting has been installed, which improves the safety of people using the space.
Also in Okuniowiec, on the Okuniowiec lake, a floating jetty was built. One can use the new gazebo with barbecue, mini playground, benches or bike racks. The project also envisages employing 2 people who will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the area in the summer season.
The project was implemented under the mechanism of Community-Led Local Development.
