The aim of the Museum is to protect the monuments of wooden architecture in Podlaskie and recreate the traditional rural landscape of the region. The manor from Bobra Wielka is a historic building. However, there was no space for exhibition and storage. The building was in a bad technical condition, which exposed it to adverse weather conditions.

The manor from Bobra Wielka is the largest and oldest wooden building located in the Podlaskie Museum of Folk Culture. It dates back to 1818, it was moved from Bobra Wielka (Sokólski poviat) to the Museum in the 80s of the 20th century.

As part of the project, the building was renovated and its interior was adapted for exhibitions and educational activities. There have been provided new storage facilities. Three levels of the building were renovated, the basement, ground floor and attic. Now, the building can be used all year round. The exhibitions present the rich cultural heritage of the north-eastern region of Poland, cultural diversity, folk and land culture. The exhibits are now shown in an attractive way. The museum organized two permanent exhibitions: court interiors and a folk art gallery. People willing to learn about folk culture from the practical side can use space for educational activities. There can also be held meetings and conferences. Thanks to grant and works, the open-air museum will enjoy even greater interest of tourists.
