The project supported health care institutions in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. 14 units in the region: hospitals, ambulance stations and the Provincial Sanitary and Epidemiological Station received the support they expected in this difficult time.
The scope of medical purchases was very wide: from tests and disinfectants, to respirators, cardiomonitors, defibrillators, specialized beds and ambulances. Thanks to the subsidy, hospitals could also carry out the necessary renovation works, preparing for the treatment of the infected, such as reconstruction of hospital emergency departments or sterilization rooms.
The co-financing allowed the Ambulance Station (WSPR) in Suwałki to purchase a considerable amount of modern medical equipment. This includes 2 decontamination chambers (tent type), 4 isolation chambers for transporting patients with suspected or confirmed infectious disease, 2 defibrillators, 7 transport respirators, infusion pumps, oxygen regulators, ozone generator and personal protective equipment. The most important part of purchases are two ambulances: transport and rescue with bariatric stretchers, used to transport obese people.
The fleet of ambulances at Ambulance Station in Białystok was expanded by four new ambulances. Ambulance also purchased 15 defibrillators and personal protective equipment. The money was also allocated to the purchase of medical ambulances, equipment, apparatus and equipment for emergency medical teams. Renovation and modernization works related to the adaptation of the room for disinfection of ambulances and the room for ozonation of working clothes were carried out.
The hospital in Bielsk Podlaski bought equipment and protective measures for over PLN 2 million. This includes ECG machine, defibrillator, infusion pumps, electric mammals or a resuscitation cart, necessary in cardiac arrest. The hospital also provided workers with protective clothing. They had at their disposal: 10,000 FFP3 protective masks, 5,000 coveralls and 25,000 protective aprons.
In addition, the Association "Nadzieja" in Łomża acquired, among others ambulance emergency equipment: defibrillator and suction. Medical personnel received helmets, masks, coveralls and disinfectants. These purchases exceeded PLN 200,000.
The Ambulance Station in Łomża (WSPR SPZOZ) received financial support in the amount of over PLN 3.5 million. The funds were envisaged for the purchase of medical ambulances, equipment for emergency medical teams and the purchase of personal protective equipment. One of the purchased ambulances was provided to the branch in Wysokie Mazowieckie, another to Zambrów, and the third remained in Łomża.
The hospital in Grajewo bought, among others two defibrillators, bronchoscope and spirometer, Hospital in Bielsk Podlaski - EKG device, defibrillator, infusion pumps and a resuscitation trolley, necessary in sudden cardiac arrest. The University Children's Clinical Hospital in Białystok bought a laminar chamber used for laboratory work and a room disinfection system. On the other hand, the University Clinical Hospital in Białystok acquired an echo device, a device for heating the patient and a sternotormia saw, necessary in thoracic surgeries.
Purchases supported by the project included in total:
- 204 specialized beds,
- 31 defibrillators,
- 43 respirators,
- 57 cardiac monitors,
- 7 ultrasound scanners,
- 12 ambulances,
- Thousands of PPE and Covid-19 tests
- necessary construction work was carried out in hospitals.
