Project title: Rewitalizacja miasteczka ruchu drogowego w Sokółce
Beneficiary: Gmina Sokółka
Project value: PLN 677,517.31
EU grant: PLN 289,503.14
The safety town in Sokólka is located next to the Osiedle Zielone Street. The project included rebuilding and revitalising the safety town, which was in poor technical condition. Destroyed infrastructure made it impossible to properly conduct educational activities.
As a result of the project, the town area was cleaned up. Many new and attractive elements have been used here. It is important, because young users will encounter them on a daily basis, using the real road infrastructure, e.g. road signs, traffic lights. In addition, the space has been developed in such a way as to be adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, the elderly and people with young children. There are benches, bicycle stands and gazebos. The paths are lit with to the use of solar lamps.
This investment will increase the social activity and improve road safety. It helps to promote active forms of recreation and spending free time. The main recipients of the project are young people and children (including people with disabilities).
